About respectme, Scotland's Anti-Bullying Service Print E-mail
respectme, Scotland's Anti-Bullying Service was launched in March 2007. respectme is a Scottish Executive funded service managed by SAMH (Scottish Association for Mental Health), in partnership with LGBT Youth Scotland.

Our work is driven by a focus on children's rights: it's the right of every child and young person not to be bullied, and we want bullying to be seen as a rights issue, not as a normal part of growing up.

respectme is not a helpline; we provide practical advice and guidance on developing and reviewing anti-bullying policies and initiatives and identifying the best ways of putting them into practice; but we can put you in touch with other organisations who have trained counsellors you can discuss any worries with.

Much of our work is going to be informed by the feedback we receive from the adults, children and young people who have experience of bullying. So we want to hear about examples of good policy, practice and initiatives that have proven successful - and we want to share them with organisations across Scotland to develop a network of champions at local level.

So if you have a role to play in the lives of children and young people and you need advice or guidance on anti-bullying practice or policy, contact us, we'd be delighted to hear from you.
