Woodlands is ending year one of the ‘Promoting Positive Behaviour' target of our Development Plan - that's not to say that there hadn't been previous work completed in this area!

In the past year we've reviewed that many aspects of our Positive Behaviour Policy - at times where to begin?  We have introduced a new aspect that we felt would enhance our existing systems

  • Head teacher's Treat - a monthly reward (a surprise) which is achieved by each pupil who keeps the Golden Rules.  The numbers of pupils achieving average out at 320 approx attending - 15 not.  This is heart warming.
  • House System - We introduced a new house system to the school.  All pupils were allocated one of four houses.  We felt this would encourage responsibility along with team contribution.  This had to be positive in that points can only be gained - not lost

Our next step is to build more events into the House System, individual recognition at the end of the year and additional point gaining aspects e.g. out of school achievements and representing the school.

As we enter year 2 there is a positive feeling about the school, hopefully we can build on this.
