This section is designed to assist people who have attended our two-day Training for Trainers programme, and are delivering respectme training to colleagues, etc within their organisation. This ‘trilogy' of films complements respectme's ‘Bullying...It's Never Acceptable' training toolkit. Together they offer a practical and dynamic resource to support the work of organisational trainers who have progressed through respectme's Training For Trainers programme. Technical Tips
We recommend that you familiarise yourself with the films by watching them at least twice before using them in training. respectme promotional video This two-minute film introduces respectme and its aims and accompanies p4 of the ‘...It's Never Acceptable toolkit' and the accompanying slide. The film offers an alternative to a verbal introduction to respectme. With a total running time of just over 17mins, the video is divided into four key sections:
The ‘Policy into Practice' film accompanies the ‘Practices' section from p45-48 of the ‘Bullying...It's Never Acceptable' toolkit. The video is designed to be shown to participants at the beginning of this section during training - immediately before the activity on p45. This film can be shown in full during training, although we would recommend you choose one or two of the four key sections which you feel are most relevant for the group you are training. As the toolkit itself (p46-48) contains written information on each section, you can curtail your training accordingly. For example, if you choose to show Natural Consequences and Peer Mediation then you do not have to discuss these in detail when they arise in p46-48. In other words, let the video do some of the work for you! RIGHT CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD THE POLICY INTO PRACTICE VIDEOCase Studies This video features dramatised accounts of the first four of the five case studies featured in the Response section of the ‘Bullying...It's Never Acceptable' toolkit (p52-57). There is a brief introduction and conclusion at the very beginning and end of the video. Most trainers will find that using two or three case studies is more than adequate for each training event. The Case Studies film accompanies the How Should I Respond? activity on p52. After showing a case study, pause the video at the time indicated below and ask participants to discuss how they would respond. When you have facilitated the participants' feedback, start the video again. The film will then show an explanation of respectme's ideal response - identical to those featured under each case study in the toolkit.
