| Andy's story - An anti-bullying resource for use with children and young people |
|
Andy's Story is a compelling film-based resource developed by respectme, in partnership with St Margaret Mary's Secondary School in Glasgow. The resource can be used in a number of different ways to engage with young people and promote their understanding of the core themes of Respect, Fear and Bullying Behaviour. Designed for practitioners working with young people aged 12 to 18 - including teachers, residential care staff and youth workers - the resource consists of a downloadable film and accompanying materials. It has three key aims:
Andy's Story offers a practical opportunity to develop awareness of bullying behaviour and its consequences from a young person's perspective. The resource offers a flexible approach to developing empathy and a greater sense of responsibility for the choices young people face about behaviour and relationships.
When using this resource we recommend that you read the 'Introduction to the themes of fear and respect' and the 'Guidance for practitioners' to familiarise yourself with the material before using it with children and young people. |
