respectme was delighted to become an official partner of the Saltire Schools Rugby League Tournament. Here at respectme we recognise the importance of promoting the benefits of sport and physical activity for young people; this tournament promotes friendship, team effort and dedication. It gives young people opportunities to express themselves and thrive in an exciting sporting activity.
SAMH (The Scottish Association for Mental Health) is an official partner of the Scotland Rugby League and through its ‘Get Active’ programme this opportunity for respectme to become involved with the Saltire Schools Rugby League arose. The Saltire Schools Rugby League Tournament is a nationwide secondary Scottish schools competition for S2 – S5 boys. There are currently 24 secondary schools competing for the Saltire respectme Cup. The Tournament is broken down into regional rounds for teams to compete, before the national rounds begin. It is also has two secondary school year leagues; there is a S2/3 category and a S4/5 category. The Tournament has also expressed an interest in creating anti-bullying policies and respectme staff will be on hand to work with the league to develop these strategies.
