AI and Bullying

Unlike bullying face-to-face, online bullying can follow children wherever they go 24 hours a day.

Children and young people are rapidly adopting AI companions and chatbots to simulate friendships. They are also increasingly using generative AI tools to create deepfakes, manipulate images, and generate malicious text for peer harassment and cyberbullying.

All adults play a key role in helping children and young people to understand the online world and risk of online bullying via new technologies and apps, as well as offering support and guidance to stay safe online.

• Identify warning signs of someone experiencing bullying behaviour via AI
